A cybersecurity incident has hit a major food supplier in the Côte-Nord region.

In Canada, a cyberattack affected food supplier Colabor on July 20, 2025, leading to a shortage of fried chicken in Côte-Nord, an administrative region of Quebec. Deprived of deliveries, many restaurants had to adjust their menus or operating hours. Establishments specializing in fried chicken or with a single-item menu were even forced to temporarily close.

In a statement, Colabor said it had taken measures to protect its network and data as soon as the incident was discovered, resulting in a shutdown of its operations. The company acknowledged that it does not yet know the exact nature or scope of the attack and has not provided a timeline for a return to normal operations.
