U.S.-based identity verification start-up Persona announced in mid-June 2025 that it had raised $200 million in a Series D funding round (approximately €173 million). The round was led by Founders Fund and Ribbit Capital, with participation from existing backers including BOND, Chemistry, Coatue, First Round, and Index Ventures.
Persona offers a comprehensive identity verification platform designed for businesses across all industries. The unicorn counts major global companies like Reddit, Lime, LinkedIn, and OpenAI among its clients. The company has greatly benefited from the growing demand for digital identity solutions, driven by the rise of remote work, digital services, and AI.
In 2024 alone, Persona’s platform enabled 300 million identity verifications. The start-up reports having doubled both its revenue and customer base between 2023 and 2024.
