The incident forced the automaker to halt its production lines.

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), the British luxury car manufacturer, revealed on September 3, 2025, that a sophisticated cyberattack had compromised its global IT infrastructure. Alerted to a malicious intrusion on September 2, the company decided to shut down all its critical systems in order to contain the breach and protect sensitive data.

However, JLR’s connected factories (in the UK, Slovakia, China, and Brazil) rely on a complex network of SCADA systems, robotic controllers, and ERP modules. Disconnecting these critical systems therefore led to an immediate halt of all production lines. The shutdown also disabled dealership management systems and online sales platforms.

As a result, the incident could cause significant delays in vehicle deliveries. JLR also stated that it has found no evidence of personal data theft.
