Group threatens to destroy company’s entire IT infrastructure; numerous flights cancelled

On July 28, 2025, pro-Ukrainian hacktivist group Silent Crow claimed responsibility for a cyberattack that struck Aeroflot, Russia’s flagship airline. The incident forced the cancellation of numerous flights. Initially described by the airline as a “technical failure,” the company later confirmed it was the target of a cyberattack. Russia’s Prosecutor General has launched a criminal investigation into the “unauthorized access” of Aeroflot’s information systems.

On their Telegram channel, Silent Crow stated they had compromised the airline’s “entire internal IT infrastructure,” including 7,000 physical and virtual servers and 12 terabytes of databases. The group threatened to carry out the “complete destruction” of Aeroflot’s systems.

The full scope of the intrusion remains unconfirmed, and there is no independent verification of Silent Crow’s claims. However, the Kremlin described the incident as “rather alarming.”
