“Cybersecurity start-ups raised around €15 billion in 2022, equal to about 9% of global cybersecu- rity expenditure. The United States continued to dominate in both the number of fundraisings and the total amount raised. However, the country raised less than it did the previous year. After an exceptional 2021 and a squeeze on financing conditions early in 2022, Europe and Israel managed to keep up their cybersecurity investment, unlike the United States. Europe accounted for 16% of the money raised for cybersecurity, up from 9% in 2021, and far surpassed Israel,” the barometer states.
