Passwords previously stolen by the Russian cyber group ‘CyberVor’ have reappeared in an attempted intrusion of Namecheap’s login systems. CyberVor was able to acquire 1.2 billion usernames and passwords and 500 million email addresses from poorly protected sites, which are now being used for the first time with Namecheap. However for the cybercriminals, most login attempts are unsuccessful since the data being used is either incorrect or old. Experts believe these attacks are a reason two-facto authentification systems should be adopted.
