[Mashable] Russia and Cuba agree to reopen a Soviet-era spy base

The two countries have come to terms to reopen the Russian intelligence gathering center in the outskirts of Havana 12 years after it was shut down. The base, which was opened in 1964 after the Cuban Missile Crisis, will be Russia’s only signals intelligence complex in the Western Hemisphere amid growing tensions between the United States and Russia.
