[NatLawReview] Florida enacts strict data breach notification law

Florida has just passed one of the most robust data protection laws in the United States. The Florida Information Protection Act (FIPA) replaced the previous data protection statute, expanding the definitions of what is to be considered personal information and a data breach. The act also requires a shortened deadline for reporting data breaches to affected residents and creates unique document disclosure requirements.
