[NextGov] Data breach affected 72% of the South Korean adult population

In 2011, a Chinese hacker provided a cybercrime ringleader with a cache of data such as names, resident registration numbers, account names and passwords. The data was then used to extract online information and online game currency from the victims. The cybercriminal was able to sell 220 million records from 27 million South Koreans for $390,000.
