NextGov Human Rights Foundation hosts a hackathon to smuggle more information into North Korea

Rather than a hackathon for malicious or defensive hacking, the Human Rights Foundation’s hackathon will force participants to discover ways to smuggle more information into North Korea’s closed society. Understanding the technology landscape within the hermit kingdom will also play an important role in the event with the end purpose of ending the government’s monopoly on information. The hackathon will take place in August and will attract several North Korean defectors including a professor of computer studies in North Korea.
