The security firm TrapX has accused a Chinese manufacturer of planting malware in its scanners to steal supply chain intelligence from any company that uses the scanners. Once connected to the network the malware would steal and exfiltrate financial, logistical, and customer information. The manufacturer is located a block from where the Google Aurora attacks originated. TrapX found 16 scanners to be infected of the 48 that were sold to 8 different companies, including a major robotics company.
