[TheRegister] Researchers discover vulnerabilities in WiFi/mesh networked light bulbs

Researchers from Context Information Security have found security vulnerabilities in LED lightbulbs (from manufacturer LIFX) that are designed to be controlled from smartphones. However, Context was able to patch the vulnerability before the products release. Context is currently screening the security of the Internet of Things including parking meters and fridges. Context emphasized that many of these objects are being developed with little consideration to security measures.
