Digital identity as a national security priority in Morocco
When detailing his priorities for 2023, the Director General of the Moroccan National Security made a point of focusing on digital technology
In Morocco, the Director General of National Security, Abdellatif Hammouchi, held his annual orientation speech in mid-December 2022, addressed to the various heads of security services. In it, he identified a list of priorities for 2023, most of them related to digital technology.
In particular, he insisted on « the need to expand institutional partnerships that allow the use of digital identity applications » in order to better fight fraud. He also called for « the securing, simplification, and digitization » of public services.
Abdellatif Hammouchi has also made the fight against fake news and violent content online a national priority. At the same time, he wants to strengthen public communication on these subjects to limit their anxiety-provoking impact.
