CYSEC, organizer of CYSAT—the European event dedicated to cybersecurity for space—launches « Hack CYSAT », a brand new ethical hacking challenge dedicated to the space industry.

The next edition of CYSAT will be held in Paris on 6 and 7 April. On that occasion, CYSEC, the Swiss cybersecurity company organizing the event, will be supported by the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Bug Bounty platform YesWeHack to launch the « Hack CYSAT » challenge to educate the space community about cyber risks.

All interested hackers—whether professionals, students, or even researchers—have until 31 January 2022 to submit their ideas for attacking and defending an orbiting satellite (ESA’s « OPS-SAT » satellite) to hack.cysat.eu.

« ‘Hack CYSAT’ is a fantastic opportunity for the space community to understand how hackers think and operate. Our goal is to raise industry awareness of cyber risks that are still unknown and to promote a modern approach to security through transparency, » explained Mathieu Bailly, Head of Space Activities at CYSEC.
