Thales and Google announced on May 20, 2026, the creation of a “clone” of S3NS in Germany, within a new cloud region based on three data centers located near Berlin. Led by Thales Germany, this entity, whose commercial name has not yet been revealed, will adopt the same model as its French equivalent.
This German-law structure will provide access to the full range of Google Cloud services within Thales’ secure and sovereign environment, designed to ensure immunity from extraterritorial laws. Already available to some customers, the offering is expected to be fully available by the end of 2026. Contracts and pricing will mirror those of S3NS. The new entity will also include a version of PREMI3NS, S3NS’s offering recently certified SecNumCloud 3.2.
The project also adds a second cloud region to Google and Thales’ sovereign offering, enabling redundancy in the event of an outage. The two regions will remain isolated by default, but customers will be able, should they choose, to activate data replication mechanisms between Germany and France.
