The FBI’s computer network hit by a cyberattack

Several sources told the US news channel, CNN, in mid-March, 2023, that the FBI was investigating a cyber incident that affected part of its computer network. The cyberattack is said to have hit an information system used in an investigation of child sexual abuse materials.

“The FBI is aware of the incident and gathering further information. This was an isolated attack and is now under control. As it is related to another ongoing investigation, the FBI will provide no further comment for the time being,” stated the federal organization.

FBI offices in New York, among the organization’s largest, are believed to have been hit.
