Europol’s European Cybercrime Center (EC3) has announced its plan to better co-ordinate international online threat investigations. The new Joint Cybercrime Action Taskforce (J-CAT) will be assigned to follow through on this plan by working with international police forces. More specifically, it will organize efforts to gather data, translate it, and share the actionable intelligence with other national and international agencies. Moreover, the Taskforce will collaborate with private stakeholders and CERT-EU. One of the biggest challenges in policing cybercrime is cross border investigations and prosecutions.
