Airbus CyberSecurity and Alstom signed a partnership to strengthen rail transport cybersecurity

To address cyber threats affecting railway undertakings as a result of their increasing digitalisation, Airbus CyberSecurity and Alstom signed a cooperation agreement on 8 September 2021.

In recent years, railway companies have widely deployed and interconnected information systems combining IT, OT, and IoT. These systems are used for the management and control of trains, metros, and trams, for track signalling, and for the control of railway operations centres.

The two groups will pool their respective expertise to develop technologies adapted to this ecosystem. Airbus CyberSecurity will bring its expertise in surveillance, attack detection, incident response, or pentesting, via its Security Operations Centre (SOC) and its CyberRange; Alstom will bring its experience in cyber issues in the digital rail industry, based on its position as world leader in the sector and its 13,000 employees working on the digitalisation of rail transport.
