Following the acquisition of Vade, the purchase of the email security specialist marks another step towards building a "European cybersecurity champion."

German cybersecurity specialist Hornetsecurity took advantage of the InCyber Forum to announce, on April 4, 2025, the acquisition of French cyber start-up Altospam, without disclosing the amount of the deal. The young company offers SaaS solutions for securing professional email communications. Altospam’s flagship product is Mailsafe, an outsourced anti-spam and anti-virus filter that requires no installation, administration, or maintenance.

According to Hornetsecurity, the acquisition is now pending approval from the French Ministry of Economy, Finance, and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty. In March 2024, the German company had already taken control of another French cyber start-up, Vade, specialized in real-time threat detection in email inboxes.

These external growth operations aim to enable Hornetsecurity, which already claims 125,000 customers in over 120 countries, to become a “European cybersecurity champion.”
