The American startup develops identity and access management solutions leveraging automation and AI.

On February 12, 2025, Israeli identity security giant CyberArk announced the acquisition of U.S.-based startup Zilla Security, a specialist in identity and access management solutions. CyberArk paid $165 million (€158 million) in cash, with an additional $10 million (€9.6 million) contingent on performance milestones.

Founded in 2019 in Boston, Zilla Security offers a SaaS platform that provides visibility into employee access within an organization. It heavily relies on automation, particularly for granting permissions to new employees and revoking access for departing staff. Zilla Security also stands out for its advanced use of AI and its adaptability to cloud environments.

CyberArk will now integrate two key functionalities from the American startup into its own SaaS platform. The first, Zilla Comply, focuses on verifying user regulatory compliance, while the second, Zilla Provisioning, enables centralized account authorization management.
